After Aberdeen we decided the best option might be to sit and talk about Hong Kong, rather than continue to fight the rain. I can say, they make good beer here!

Can we get on with it, please?
Hong Kong is a huge and beautiful city, but we would just as well be with our daughter in Hefei, thank you. We are biding our time very impatiently and trying to have a little fun in the process. Today we took a tour of Hong Kong. It was rainy and foggy all day except for the mid-afternoon. We started by going to Victoria Peak on Hong Kong Island, where our hotel is. From here, one is able to see all of the island and the famous Victoria Bay that separates Hong Kong Island from the Kowloon Peninsula and mainland China. Huge modern buildings surround the bay on both sides. We're told it is quite breathtaking. We saw fog and clouds! From there, we went to Stanley, a beach town on the sought side of the island. We saw the primary temple of Tin Hau, the bhuddist goddess of heavenly peace, or is it eternal tranquilty? Anyway, Tin Hau was a women sailor who lived around 64 AD who has been deified because she had supposed magical powers and saved sailors from storms. The temple was built in the 1300's. Afterward we went
to the fishing town of Aberdeen where we saw the largest floating restaurant, appropriately named "Jumbo" and lots of fancy yachts and a bunch of the Sam Pan boats that are used as taxis. Here we are at the Sam Pan launch with the Jumbo restaurant behind us. I took a ride on a Sam Pan with Billy, our tour guide, to see the large fishing boats, called "junks," and a boat city where many house boats are anchored in the bay
and are the permanet residents for a lot of people. Karen decided not to brave the waves and had an adventure in a supermarket. Here is a Sam Pan similar to the one we rode.

Remember what your mamma said
"Be careful drinking while riding Sam Pan's".
Didn't Davey Allison drive a Sam Pan while growing up in Hueytown?
Happy to hear that you made it to the 'other side of the world'...it seems like yesterday that we were doing those same things with our pal Billy. We hoped that you enjoyed him. We are praying for you and an easy transition for Hadley. We look forward to getting the kids together when you get back.
Love,
The Willards
So Phil beat me to the punch, but I still want to comment, too.
I know you must be going crazy to "get on with it" because we are going crazy here on pins and needles waiting for Hadley Day.
Here's a poem for you:
Little One
My belly bears no marks
My heart has stretched instead
Carrying you
A pregnant soul
and wanting, waiting arms.
Karen, I'm sure you feel about 14 months pregnant right now. Enjoy these last hours of the wait. The heart wrenching desire for this sweet little girl is a miraculous mystery that God has placed uniquely in your hearts. Soon...very soon she'll be in your arms and the ache will melt into joy. But this ache is part of the mystery God has used to make her yours forever.
Love you guys!
Jennifer
I'm glad to see you having a little fun, even if it is just a means of passing some time. We are praying for you daily and it has been great to see pictures. I know that I couldn't make it through the week without seeing Pat drinking a beer.
Andy
So good to see your faces...I have enjoyed seeing Cole this past week during VBS craft time. He's been doing great. I saw Sam run by (surprise) and caught a glimpse of Gracie in the hall with her class. Karen, I even saw your parents coming into the big end-of-week VBS performace. Now that had to be a bit overwhelming! Actually, it was a precious thing to hear all those kids screaming out the name of JESUS, their hero, as the song lyrics go. How I pray that the words they sang will become life to them.
We are praying for you, hoping that as it is now Sunday there, perhaps you have been able to meet precious Hadley already. What an incredible moment.
We continue to pray for your family, both in China and here waiting for your return. (Yes, Mike too will love the picture of Pat having a beer! He gets home tonight.)
WE LOVE THE EDDINS!
Heather & Mike
