Here she is! The subject of many prayers, and dreams - Hadley. We have been in the process of adopting her for the last 10 months. She is currently living in the Hefei Social Welfare Institute (orphanage) in Hefei City, Anhui Province, China. Hefei is about 400 miles inland and directly West of Shanghai.
Her Chinese name is Lu Feng Jiao which, roughly translated means "Beautiful Phoenix." Lu is the surname given to each child who is named at the Hefei SWI.
If I were a better planner, I would have been journaling our experience from the very beginning. We have already been through such a journey and have developed such a love for this sweet girl, whom we've yet to meet. In the next few blog postings I hope to cover our experience thus far. Presently, we just received our travel approval from the Chinese government and expect to travel around mid-April.

What a beautiful girl. I have been following your blog forever. If ever I am in Birmingham, I would love to meet your wonderful family.
It is my dream to travel to Birmingham because it is the home of Lily and Kate. Do you know them? Oh, wow, it is my dream to meet them one day. Anyway, look forward to following your journey.

I wanna go! I wanna go! I am very sad that I can not go to pick up your little precious package! I can not wait to show her just how wierd her Uncle Mayonnaise is! Yes, I know your not going to allow me to talk to her for a year. I will be satisfied jumping up to get a peek at her through the window. Hi, I am Uncle Mayonnaise! We will get to play when your Mommy lets me come in the house! YEA!
